Photoshop Elements 7.

I'm using the artwork of Marlon Teunissen, http://www.dreamchasergallery.com/ you need a license to use this tube, which can be purchased at MyTagArt.com. The kit I used is called "Alice in Wonderland" and it's a collab kit by Noshay and StarLight Designs, and I purchased it at Digital-Crea.

Okay, let's begin. Open a new project, size 500x500. Open Noshay_el_41, resize to 475x366 and move to project. Now open tube, and move to project, resize to how you would like it to fit inside the frame, add drop shadow (2, 2, 75). Now duplicate frame and add drop shadow (2,2, 75) to the original frame. Now on the second frame you just made, erase the top part that the tube covers, leaving the bottom part of the tube covered so the tube appears to come out of the frame.

Now open element 28, resize to 150x77, move to project and add drop shadow (2, 2, 30) and duplicate it 6 times to line the front of the frame. Now for me, I didn't like how the frame either sticks out the bottom of the grass or the fancy bottom of the frame sticks above the grass, so I positioned the grass so the whole bottom of the frame was covered, then erased the part of the frame that was sticking out at the bottom.

Now open element 27, resize to 190x150 and move to the top of the project, turning it slightly and add drop shadow (2, 2, 75). Now go back to one of the grass layers, duplicate once more and move to in front of element 27, then flip the layer around by going to Image, Rotate, Flip Layer Horizonal. Now open element 14, resize to 190x190 and move to project, placing it behind element 27. Once happy with the placement, erase the part of element 14 that sticks out from behind element 27.

Next, open Noshay_el_18, resize to 75x77 and move to project, positioning it just to the left of the frame and rotating it to the left slightly, adding drop shadow (2, 2, 75). Now open element 4, resize to 53x75, move to project, rotate slightly to bring keys up a little, add drop shadow (2, 2, 75). Open Noshay_el_49, resize to 200x44, flip image and move to the top of the project, adding drop shadow (2, 2, 75). Open element 24, resize to 175x175, and move to project, move behind everything, add drop shadow (2, 2, 30) and erase any of it that sticks above frames.

Open element 42 resize to 48x150, move to project add drop shadow (2, 2, 30), duplicate and position the duplicate layer above element 24. Also erasing any of these two elements that stick above frames. Now open paper layer of choice and resize to 500x500, move over to project and then I smooched the paper to fit behind frames, since it's just a paper layer, it's okay for any distortion this may cause. Open Noshay_el_13, resize to 450x404 and move to project, duplicate and merge down to darken the layer, duplicate and move new layer over to the other side, making sure to not overlap the layers my erasing part of one.

Now resize, add copyright info and name and save.

Gorjuss Painting

Photoshop Elements 7.

I'm using the artwork of Suzanne Woolcott, which you need a license for and can be purchased at her store here. I used KnC's adorable kit "Tiny Puddles", which you can purchase at her store Lollipops N Gumdrops.

Open a new project, size 500x500. Open blue frame, go to Image and rotate image to the left, resize to 475x339, move to project and add drop shadow (2,2,75). Now open bench, resize to 350x208, move to project, below frame and add drop shadow (2,2,75). Open bushes, resize to 470x152, move to project, behind bench and add drop shadow (2,2,75). Duplicate and turn the duplicate by going to Image, Rotate and Flip Layer Horizonally, move back layer up to have a full look.

Now open fence, resize to 470x133, move to project behind bushes, add drop shadow (2,2,75). Now open birdhouse, resize to 96x300, move to project behind bushes in front of fence, and add drop shadow (2,2,50). Open tree, resize to 344x400, move to project, position tree and erase the parts that will stick out of frame, add drop shadow (2,2,50). Now open sun, resize to 130x129, move to project, add drop shadow (2,2,50) and erase the part that sticks beyond the frame.

Open bird, resize to 30x19, move to project, add drop shadow (2,2,50). Now open the tube, move over to project and place above freame, on bench, size it to your liking, add drop shadow (2,2,75) Open flower, resize to 25x75, move to project, add drop shadow (2,2,50), duplicate 3 times, flipping two horizonily like we did above to the bushes. Now open paper6, move to project, and adjust the size of the paper to fit inside the frame. Next open grass and resize to 470x40, move to project and add drop shadow (2,2,50).

Crop image, resize, add Copyright info and name.

Fairy Dreams

Tube used is from Candice Dillhoff; http://weecottage.com/; you need a license to use her work which you can purchase at MyTagArt.com. I used a beautiful kit made by Tammy's Scraps, which you can purchase at Lollipop N Gumdrops.

Okay, let's get started. Open up a new project, size 500x500. Open up tube, and move to project, add drop shadow (2,2,75). Now open Fairy Dreams Frame 1, and resize to 475x159, move to project, duplicate and place one layer above our tube, and one layer below the tube. Add drop shadow (2,2,75) to bottom frame. Now position tube in the middle square of the frames like in my sample above. Once you have the tube the way you want it, go to the frame on top and erase the parts that cover the tube, except at the bottom, to make it appear as if she is coming out of the frame.

Now duplicate the tube and position below the bottom frame and move it to either the right or the left square, duplicate and move to the other square, then erase the parts of the tubes that will stick out beyond the frame. With one of the new layers of the tubes, go to Image, Rotate, Flip Layer Horizonal. Open Fairy Dreams Paper 3, resize to 500x500, move to project behind tubes and frames, erasing the parts of the paper that stick out beyound the frames. You can do that by using your magic wand tool and clicking outside the frame the clicking on the paper layer and hitting delete, then erase the part of the paper that is in between the frames or just using the eraser tool all together.

Now open Fairy Dreams Grass 5, resize to 150x113, and move to top of project, make duplicate of the grass layer and move them around, and making it appear full. I ended up with 8 grass layers, you may also want to flip some of the layers like we did the tube above to make the grass appear to "grow" in differant directions. Now open Fairy Dreams Flower Clip 1 and 2, resize both to 75x70 and move both over to project, add drop shadow (2,2,75) to both. Now open Fairy Dream Paper 2, resize to 500x500, move over to project. Now use the Cookie cutter tool with the oval shape with feather set to 35.

Crop image, resize and add Copyright info and name.

Angels Cry

I used a tube of Anna Marine, you need a license to use her tubes,

which can be purchased at Creative Design Outlet. Kit used is "Angels Cry" by Black Widow Creations, and can be purchased at her store Underground Scraps .

Okay, let's start. Open a new project, size 500x500. Open Frame2 and resize to 335x430, and move over to project. Open tube and position just inside the frame, with her head sticking up over the top of the frame. Duplicate the frame, move to above the tube, erase the part of the frame that is covering the head, arms, and hair of the tube, leaving it covering the body of the tube. Add drop shadow (2, 2, 75) to tube and bottom layer of the frame.

Open Paper22, resize to 500x500 and move over to project, placing it in the back of the project. Using the Magic Wand tool, click on the outside of the frame after making it the active layer, move back to the paper layer and hit delete, then go to Select and hit Deselect. This should have left you with a background just inside the frame.

Open Flower7, resize to 93x200 and move to project just below the tube. Make sure that none of the frame above is covering the flower we just added. Duplicate flower, turn it around and resize it a little smaller. Now open Flower8, and resize to 70x150, position it between the two flowers already on our frames. erasing the part of the stem that stick out. Add drop shadow to all the flowers (2, 2, 75).

Open Doodles3, and move to the back of the project, add drop shadow (2, 2, 75). Open Paper7, resize to 500x500, move to back of project. Open mask of choice and move to back of project. Go to Layer, Group with Previous Layer. Move Paper7 and mask until they ar like you want them. I changed to opacity of the mask layer to 77%.

Crop, resize, add copyright and your name and save.

Fantasy Garden

Aurora

Scrapkit used was "Aurora" by Disyas Digital Designs at http://disyasdigitaldesigns.blogspot.com/ and can be purchased at http://enchanteddreamsboutique.com/.

This is a very simple tag, let's begin. Open a new file, 500x500. Now open Disyas_Aurora_Bench1, resize to 300x212, move to project and add drop shadow (2, 2, 75). Now open Disyas_Auroa_Grass2 and resize to 43x45 and move to project, placing at the leg of the bench, add drop shadow (2, 2, 30), duplicate and move over just a touch. Now duplicate again and repeat with remaining legs of bench. making sure to erase any grass the would "stick" above the bench, as it should appear to be below the bench.

Now open tube, size accordingly and move to project, and "sit" on bench, add drop shadow (2, 2, 75). Now open Disyas_Aurora_But3 and resize to 50x49, move to project, add drop shadow (2, 2, 75) and duplicate, adjusting the angle of the butterfly each time.

Open Disyas_Aurora_P5, and resize to 400x400 and move to the back of the project. Now open your mask of choice and make any placement changes and apply mask. Now I wanted my mask a little brighter, so I added a drop shadow (1, 1, 50) but changed the color of the shadow to the yellow of the flowers in the paper.

Add name and CR info and save.

Fallen Angel

Photoshop Elements 7.

I used the artwork of Anna Marine, which can be purchased here and
can only be used with a license.

Scrap Kit used was "Fallen" by BlackWidow Creationz.

Font used was Hermia.

Let's begin. Open a new file, 500x500. First open Mask2, resize to 478x500 and move to project. Change opacity to 70%. Now open tube and bring over to project, size how you would like it. I sized mine 301x450, add drop shadow (2, 2, 75). Now with the preset shapes add a square outline around the tube, leaving the wings to go beyond the frame, but covering the lower part of the tube.

Open Paper13, resize to 500x500 and move to project just above our frame we just created. Click on the frame layer and hit control at the same time, this will outline the frame, now click the paper frame and go to Select, Inverse and hit delete and go back to Select and Deselect. That should have just made a frame with the paper, delete the frame we made using the preset shapes. Make a duplicate layer of the paper frame and move above the tube. Erase the part of that paper frame that the tube overlaps, but leaving it at the bottom to cover the bottom of the tube. Go back to the original paper frame and add drop shadow (2, 2, 75). Make sure to click on the tube layer and erase the bottom part of the tube that may be going beyond the frame.

Now open Paper8, resize to 400x400 and move to below the original paper frame layer on our project. Using the Rectangular Marquee Tool, draw a rectangle matching the frame layer and then go to Select, Inverse and (making sure the Paper8 layer is active) hit delete, then go back to Select and hit Deselect.

Okay, now that we have the frame up, go back to the mask layer and resize or adjust it to the tube and frame. Now open Rose2 and move to project, add drop shadow (2, 2, 75) and duplicate. Rotate and make smaller the duplicate and position just to the right of the original.

Open BrokenHalo1 and resize to 150x60 adn move to the top of our project. Add drop shadow and duplicate. We are gonna make the halo appear to be leaning on the name once we add it, so on one halo erase one broken piece and on the other halo erase the other one. Now open Tree1 and move to project, just above the paper layer, position, add drop shadow (2, 2, 75) and erase any tree that stick out the frame.

Open Lightning1 (or any of them you like) and move to project, just above the tree we just added, position it in the opposite corner from the tree, making sure no lightening stick out of the frame. Add drop shadow (2, 2, 30). Add Name and Fallen Angel saying on the side. Now with the halo layers, move both above the name and make it so that the halo is leaning on the name, and the other piece is flat on the "ground", adjusting the size of both accordingly.

Add CR info and save.

Innocence Lost

Scrap kit used is called "Innocence Lost" by Coquettas Designz, and can be purchased at Enchanted Dreams Boutique.

Okay, let's begin by opening a new file, 500x500. Open CD_ILframe3, and resize to 450x441, and move over to our project, add drop shadow (2, 2, 50). Open CD_ILPaper 18, resize to 660x495 and move over to project, placing it behind the frame we just added. Now go to the cookie cutter tool, and with the feather set to 10, grab the circle shape and cut out right around the circle of the frame center line, duplicate the layer to make the edging a little darker for later.

Now open CD_ILGlitterDoodle, resize to 250x390, and place above paper layers, below the frame. Erase any of the doodle that may stick out of the frame. Now open tube, and resize as needed, move over to just below the doodle, and to the right, add drop shadow (2, 2, 50), and change the opacity of the tube to 80%. Now go to Layers, group with previous layer. This will feather the tube like we did with the paper layer earlier. Move tube around until happy with placement.

Now open SSLisa - Babylon - Candelabra - Red Iron, and resize to 140x400, move to project and drop shadow (2, 2, 75). (I used the rectangular marque tool to move the CR info for this tube to a better spot for this tube) Bring over another copy of the tube, go to Image, Rotate, and Flip Layer Horizonal to flip tube to face the opposite direction from the first one we used. Add drop shadow (2, 2, 75).

Open CD_IL_Fan, resize to 200x133 and move over to our project, add drop shadow (2, 2, 50). Rotate the fan until it is positioned as I've done in the tag above. Now open CD_IL_wordart, and resize to 250x71, move to project and add drop shadow (2, 2, 50).

Open CD_ILBlackRose, resize to 75x70 and move to project, above the word art we just added. Add drop shadow (2, 2, 50) and go to Enhance, Adjust Color, Adjust Hue/Saturation and change Saturation to -11 and Hue to +12. That will allow the details of the rose to be seen. Open CD_ILPerfume and resize to 100x100, move to project and place behind rose, add drop shadow (2, 2, 50).

Now open CD_ILMusicSheet and resize to 500x670, and move to the back of the project. With cookie cutter tool, we are going to cut out a circle, slightly bigger than the frame, with feather set to 35. Now open CD_ILSwanWings and resize to 475x233, move over above sheet music paper and add drop shadow (2, 2, 75).

Resize image if desired, and add name and copyright info and save.

Love is in the Air

Scrap kit used was "Love is in the Air" by Shal's World,

which is available for purchase at MyTagArt.com.

Template used was mine, which you may find just a few posts ago.

Fonts used were Splendid Ornamenty and Rosa Marena.

Now let's begin. Open a new file, size 500x500. Open template, resize to 475x428 and move it over to the new file.

We will use this next couple of steps quite alot in this tutorial to make frames,

so make sure you remember to look back here if you need to.

Start with layer 2 of the template. Using the Magic Wand tool, click on the outside of the circle. Go to Select and Inverse, which will invert the selected part of the layer, then go to layer 1 and hit delete. Go back to Select and Deselect. Move layer 1 above layer 2 and go to Image, Resize, and Scale. Scale it to 98%. Add drop shadow (2, 2, 75) and bevel (8).

Open SW_Love_Paper 20. Resize to 400x400 and move to project, making sure it is between layer 1 and layer 2. Go to Layer, Group with Previous. Move paper around until you are happy with the placement and merge down to layer 2.

Next, we will move to layer 3, which we want black, so we will make it black. Go to Enhance, Adjust Color, Adjust Hue/Saturation, move Lightness all the way to the left and click ok. Now we need layer 3 to frame layer 4. Do that following the steps we did for layers 1 and 2. Now open SW_Love_Paper 22, and move it over to project, make sure you place it below layer 3 and above layer 4. Position the words on the paper how you want it, resizing if desired and merge with layer 4 as we did with SW_Love_Paper 20 and layer 2.

Now we need to make frames out of layer 5 and layer 5 copy, as we did before. Then with layer 2 copy and layer 2 copy 2 on top of each other, merge them together. Open SW_Love_Paper 11, resize to 500x500 and move to the project, making sure it is right above our merged layer 2. Merge is with layer 2 as we did before.

Now we make a frame out of layer 6 as we did with layers 1, 3 and 5. Open SW_Love_Paper 2 and resize to 300x300 and merge with layer 7 as in previous steps.

Now open tube of choice and position above layer 6. Duplicate tube 2 times and move duplicates down to just above layer 2 (the diamonds) and position tubes inside the diamonds. Merge duplicate tubes together and add drop shadow (2, 2, 75). Go to Enhance, Convert to Black and White, Vivid Landscape and click okay. Make opacity of merged tube 67%. Now merge tube layers to the diamond as we've done with the paper layers in previous steps.

Back up to the top. Make a frame out of layer 8 and put it above layer 9. Move layer 8 and 9 down if desired. Bring over SW_Love_Paper 11 we used earlier and merge with layer 9 as before.

Open SW_Love_Flower 11 and resize to 138x250. Position above layer 6. Add drop shadow (2, 2, 75) and duplicate. Position slightly across original layer. Open SW-Love_Heart Frame 9, resize to 300x300. Position behind tube and add drop shadow (2, 2, 75). Add drop shadow to original tube, before we forget.

Behind everything, bring over SW_Love_Paper 20 again. Now using the Cookie Cutter tool with feather set at 35, cut out a nice backdrop. I used the square shape and positioned it just inside the rectangle. Resize image, add desired wording, name and of course copyright info. Crop image and save.

"Unconventional Love"

This tutorial was written by me on February 4, 2011, and written for Photoshop Elements 7.

Supplies needed:

Tube of choice, I used Jennifer Jenesko, which you must have a license to use and can be purchased at Creative Design Outlet. Kit used was “Unconventional Love” by P & A Design, which can be purchased at Enchanted Dreams Boutique. Mask of choice. Font used Edwardian Script ITC.

Okay, let’s start. Open a new file, 500x500. Open element 4, resize to 450x450, and add to new project. Open element 60, resize to 400x200, and add to project above element 4. Duplicate element 4, and move to above element 60. Carefully erase part of the element to leave just the ribbon above the flowers on the left.

Now open paper 16 and resize to 500x500, and add to the project behind other elements. Make the first element 4 layer active (or the layer you are working with), and using the Magic Wand Took, click on the outside of the element, then click on the paper 16 layer and hit delete. This should leave you with the paper on the inside of the heart. Now use the easer to remove the rest of the paper layer from around the ribbon on the top of the heart. Go back to the first element 4 layer and erase the ribbon that is inside the heart, so the paper fills the whole inside.

Open element 14, resize to 85x200, and add to the project as the top layer. Move it to the right of the heart frame, and align with the edge. Now open your tube of choice and size to your liking. Add it right in front of the paper layer. Erase the parts of the tube that stick out of the frame.

Open paper 14 and add to the back of the stack of layers. Open mask and resize if necessary, add to the project as the back layer. With paper 15 as the active layer, click layers, then group with previous layer, this will allow the mask to show thru. Move the paper layer and/or the mask layer until you are happy with the placement, merge paper layer down to the mask layer.

Now add drop shadows to the elements. I use the Low shadow and make both settings 2. Resize image, add name and copyright info.

Starting something new....

...I've been on lots of blogs, and have seen a ton of great tags shown off on them. Thought maybe it was time to show off some of mine. So here it goes, please be patient with me as I figure this all out and get things set up. I will post some of my tags soon.
